Ladies Aid meets Thursday

Ladies Aid met last Thursday for an all-day meeting. Those present were Deneise Lang, Margaret Morgan, Reva Goodwin, Evelyn Sidener, Patty Mitchell, and Bev Morgan.

Pastor Clint Stopple's message Sunday morning was "Being Conformed to Christ" taken from Philippians 2:2-11.

We congratulate Jaimie Lang. She was elected to the student council this week.

Ladies Aid will have an all-day meeting Thursday — working to prepare for the soup supper on Saturday.

We extend sympathy to the family of Walt Ireland, a longtime Florence resident. He will be missed by many.

We extend sympathy to Patty Williams and Carl due to the loss of her father and his grandfather Lewis Reece. His great sense of humor will be missed.

Friday evening visitors of Bill and Margie Williams were Denise Lang, Johnny and Jaimie. Carl Williams of Manhattan and Terry Steinbacher of Wichita were Saturday dinner guests. Bill, Margie, Gary, and Terry visited Will and Gayla Soyez, Elliot and Samantha of Florence Saturday evening.

Roy and Bev Reynolds went to Wichita for dinner with Floyd and Kathy Dowell. Later they visited in the Dowells' home in Leon.

Loraine Smith of Florence was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Hazel Clothier.

Sharon Smith and Julia attended the junior rodeo in Strong City Saturday. Later they attended the Matfield Green Days.

Janet Cress visited her sister Letha Goering in Marion Friday evening. Lisa Cunningham returned home to Tulsa, Okla., after an extended visit with Everett and Janet.
