KDOT to survey U.S.-50/77 intersection years ago

A Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) survey party is expected to begin work Monday on the intersection of U.S.-50 and U.S.-77 at Florence.

According to Stan Whitley, a spokesman for KDOT, the survey is necessary to gather information for proposed improvements at the intersection. It is expected to take three weeks.

Work will involve the use of instruments on the ground to determine distances, elevations, and angles.

Whitley said when it becomes necessary for crew members to enter private property, they first will obtain permission from the landowner or tenant.

Tom Conkright, L.S., will be in charge of the survey.
