Kaufman, Klingenberg are married

Kara Marie Kaufman of Hillsboro and Derek John Klingenberg of Peabody were united in marriage at 4 p.m. June 5, 2004, at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. Pastors Floyd Born and Todd Lehman officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Kenton and Nancy Kaufman of Hillsboro. The groom's parents are Vernon and Carol Klingenberg of Peabody.

The bride wore a chapel-length dress of white satin embellished with beads and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of silk gardenias, ivy, and larkspur, which she arranged.

The bride's sister and brother, Kelsey Kaufman and Tyler Kaufman, served as her attendants. Kyle Unruh was the flowergirl.

The groom's brothers, Brett Klingenberg and Grant Klingenberg, served as groom's attendants. Ringbearer was Jeremy Nisly.

Ushers were Mike Stamm, Jost Kuehl, Aaron Beaton, and Eric Janzen, cousin of the groom.

Musicians were Angela Janzen, cousin of the groom, who served as member and coordinator of a string quartet, Brandon Kaufman, cousin of the bride, who served as trumpeteer, and Karen Kaufman, aunt of the bride, organist.

Paul and David Janzen were gift carriers. Gesine Kuehl and Nicole Janzen, cousin of the groom, were candlelighters.

A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. Reception hosts and hostesses were Barry and Sharon Lehman, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Mike and Jane Schmidt, aunt and uncle of the groom. Friends of the bride were reception servers.

The bride graduated from Hillsboro High School and Hesston College. She is employed as a registered nurse at Newton Medical Center.

The groom is a graduate of Peabody High School and Kansas State University. He farms in rural Peabody.

Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple is at home in rural Peabody.

Rehearsal dinner

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party June 4 on their farm.
