JV squad posts first win

Peabody-Burns High School junior varsity volleyball squad posted the first win of the season Saturday in a match at Wichita Trinity. The team won over Wichita Trinity, 25-22, 29-27.

In other action at Trinity, the team lost to Chase County 25-22, 19-25, 18-25. The team also played two matches Tuesday in Inman. The team was defeated by Inman 7-25, 10-16. The team also lost to Ell-Saline, 14-25, 11-18.

Ruth McLeod scored six points in the Ell-Saline match and Tabitha O'Neal scored four. Angela Negard and McLeod served nine service points in the Chase County match.

Marissa Jantz had a back row spike in the Wichita Trinity match to tie the game at 26 pushing the team to a 29-27 victory. McLeod again led in service points with nine. Daniela Adler added six and O'Neal had five.
