Junior high squads play Hutch

Peabody-Burns Tomahawks continue to dominate the league with three more victories. They remain undefeated, 10-0 overall. They have recorded victories over Burrton, 51-22, Hutch Trinity, 53-26, and a previously undefeated Remington team, 45-40, in overtime.

The next scheduled game for the team is Jan. 30 at Little River.

The Tomahawks took control of the game against Burrton with tough defensive pressure. They took a 25-9 lead to the locker room at the half. The Tomahawks were able to substitute personnel in the second half and coasted to a victory, 51-22.

Hutchinson

The Tomahawks opened the game against Hutch Trinity with 19 unanswered points. The PBJH squad played well on both offense and defense with many of the Tomahawks seeing playing time.

Remington

The PBJH Tomahawks met up with a large, physical Remington team Thursday. The Tomahawks took an early lead, but Remington came back to within one at the end of the first quarter 9-8.

A good Tomahawk press made for good defensive steals, but the Broncos answered with big strong play underneath the basket. The Tomahawks led at the half 16-13.

The two teams went back and fourth throughout the third and fourth quarters. Both the Broncos and the Tomahawks scored well in the third with the Tomahawks leading 31-29 at the end of the third.

A shot for the PBJH squad didn't fall at the last second and the game was tied up at 35.

The Tomahawks took an early lead in overtime and hit crucial free throws to ice the win 45-40.
