June Roberts

June Angeline Roberts, 92, Topeka, died there Feb. 18, 2003.

She was the widow of the late Francis Roberts who was Marion County Clerk before moving to a state position in Topeka.

Born June 25, 1910, at Wichita, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Elva (McFredrick) McDowell. They lived in Wichita until 1918.

She graduated from Mulvane High High School in 1927.

She and Francis Richard Roberts were married June 26, 1932, at Newton. They lived in Marion for 20 years before moving to Topeka in 1958. He died Oct. 23, 1985. She also was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Paul of Topeka, Gerry of Kansas City, Mo., and Donald of Wichita; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was an Avon representative for 17 years, a member of Central Park Christian Church, and a member of Caregivers at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Friday morning in Topeka with graveside services that afternoon in Gard Cemetery near Marion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Alzheimer's Association.
