July Fourth button contest underway

Peabody July Fourth Celebration Society has announced that entries for the annual button contest will be accepted until May 1.

The contest is open to everyone (not just Peabody residents) and a $25 cash prize will go to the person with the winning entry.

Rules for the contest include:

1. The entry must be hand-drawn (no clip art) and must fit into a two- and one-fourth-inch circle.

2. The entry must include the colors red, blue, and black.

3. It must contain the words "Peabody," "2006," and either "4th Fest" or "4th of July."

Entries must be submitted by the deadline to Peabody July 4th Celebration Society, PO Box 74, Peabody 66866.

Entrants should include their name and phone number on the back of the design.
