Johnsons honored on 65th anniversary years ago

The 65th wedding anniversary of Harold and Edith Johnson was celebrated Aug. 24 with a party at the Red Coach Inn, Newton, hosted by their four children.

The Johnsons currently live in Windom, Minn., but were longtime Peabody residents.

More than 60 family members and friends attended the event.

Music was provided by Peabody High School classmate of 1942, Gordon Appleby of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Other classmates who attended were Bob and Dorothy Delk and Gerri (Hett) Williams, all of Marion, and Irvin and Pauline McPheeters of Peabody.

Family members included the Johnsons' four children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, Harold Johnson Jr. of Chapel Hill, N.C., son, Trey and Kelli Johnson, Jacob and Isabelle of Weatherford, Texas; Carolyn Johnson and husband, Dennis of Citrus Grove, Calif., daughter-in-law, Jeum Ye Alexander and son Patrick of Sacramento, Calif., and son, David and Kellie Alexander and Alana of Keller, Texas; Fred and Lynette Johnson of Carbondale, Colo.; and Alan and Dee Johnson of Phoenix Ariz., and son, Chad Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas.

Other family members included Eddie Johnson, Margie Maguire, Imogene Rimbey, Mae Deane and Wesley Blankley, and Steven Blankley, all of Peabody; Lois and Fred Rappuhn, Irons, Mich.; Kevin Blankley, Newton; Elaine and Ray Long, Derby; Richard, Daylene, and Olivia Johnson, Hesston; and Marion and Gene Graber, Liberal.

Friends included Harold Keller, Arlington, Texas; Earl and Vada Stocklein and Alan and Peggy Knotts, Ness City; Gordon and Shirley Enyart, Prairie City, Iowa.
