John Walton Jr.
John S. Walton Jr., 66, of Topeka, died Feb. 20, 2007.
Born April 3, 1940, at San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of John and Alletta Walton.
He graduated from Olathe High School and Baker University, where he received a degree in music.
He taught music at several Kansas high schools including Peabody. He became an insurance agent and later began his own company, Capitol City Insurance, Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole; daughter, Kimberly Walton; son, Donald Walton; and father, John S. Walton Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Horn of Olathe and Jennifer Young of Peabody; mother, Alletta Walton-Keenan of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Sharron Crawford of Mesa, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at Olathe.
A memorial fund has been established with the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City.
