Joel and Dorothy Hanneman celebrate 65th anniversary years ago
Joel and Dorothy Hanneman recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family celebration.
Joel Hanneman and Dorothy Burgat were married Jan. 24, 1940, in Newton in the home of the bride's sister and brother-in-law. The bride's great uncle, the Rev. C.L. Sorg officiated.
They are lifelong residents of rural Peabody. They were farmers and still reside on the family farm, where they have lived for more than 60 years.
They have three children, Jim Hanneman and wife, Teresa, of Nathrop, Colo., John Hanneman of Kansas City, and Kay Epp and husband of Bradshaw, Neb., three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
