Jennifer Hope to perform senior vocal recital Sunday
Jennifer Hope, a senior music education student at Tabor College, Hillsboro, will present her senior vocal recital at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel-Auditorium, located in the H.W. Lohrenz Building.
The first half of her recital will feature foreign language pieces, and the second half will feature English pieces.
"Some of the better known composers that I will be performing are Vivaldi, Brahms, Britten, Bernstein, Bach, and Martini," said Hope, a native of McPherson.
While her current favorite piece is Italian, Hope says the Bernstein aria will be an enjoyable piece for the audience. Hope also will perform more contemporary pieces, including "If I Were a Bell" from "Guys and Dolls" and "Stars and the Moon" from "Songs for a New World."
Amy Tolle, also a senior music education major, will perform a duet with Hope.
Following graduation, Hope plans to pursue conducting choir at either the junior high or high school level.
"I have always been interested in music and singing," said Hope. "I have participated in these activities since I was little. I enjoy the thought of sharing this love with other people. I also really like spending time with junior high and high school aged students."
