It's nice to hear good things
To the Editor:
It always is nice to hear good things about our community, and visitors on the Christmas Home Tour sponsored by Peabody Historical Society gave so many compliments. "Your whole town works together." "You have so many historical society members." "I would move to Peabody if you could find me a nice 1920s house." and "You have so many talented people in your town."
One guest from Colorado dropped off the highway to see the town, left the town, and then came back 50 miles to take the tour. She even bought an afghan.
The homes were beautiful and many people worked many hours and, yes, we do have talented people but all towns have treasures to share and people to work — usually it is just a matter of asking. We all learned more about our history as we shared it with others.
One request for Peabody citizens for Christmas. Please give those dogs who live their lives on the ends of ropes a nice pen and a doghouse. It can't be much of a life to always be tied up. If you love your dogs, please remember them in this special season of love.
Merry Christmas.
