Investigations determine Jacobs death health-related
Peabody Police Chief Jeff Pohlman has released information from Sedgwick County forensic pathologist on the autopsy and investigation into the Feb. 17 death of Frances Jacobs, 78.
Jacobs' body was discovered in her home at 204 Elm in Peabody by a neighbor when she did not keep a long-standing appointment.
The house was filled with smoke and the room in which her body was found had burned. An investigation was launched to determine the cause of death.
Pohlman said Sedgwick County investigators concluded Jacobs died of a health-related cause. The fire was ignited by a lighted cigarette.
