Investigation into stolen property continues

Peabody Police Chief Jeff Pohlman said this week that no arrests have been made in the rash of thefts of yard ornaments from Peabody homes.

"We have though, had more people than I thought we would, call and say they have had items stolen," he said.

He asked that anyone who is missing lawn decorations contact the police department at 983-2133 and file a report.

"We've begun our investigation, but the more information we have, the better our chances of recovering what has been stolen," Pohlman added.

Pohlman also reported the arrest Sunday afternoon of Eric Henderson at 409 N. Elm in Peabody. Henderson was arrested on a warrant out of New Mexico for failure to pay fines on an aggravated assault.

Peabody police officers, in conjunction with officers from Hillsboro Police Department K-9 Unit and Marion County Sheriff's Office conducted a drug search at Peabody-Burns High School Tuesday morning. No drugs were found.

"We are always glad when we have positive news to report after a search with the drug dog," said Chief Pohlman.

This is the second routine search at PBHS this year. Pohlman and the other officers try to schedule several surprise visits to the school during each school year.
