Inmate flees work area at Marion
An individual currently in jail for marijuana possession was outside the Marion County Sheriff's office at 1:58 p.m. Aug. 11 doing a work release project with other inmates. Undersheriff Brazil reports the individual left the assigned area and fled. The person also threatened to kill Casey Park, 341 South Fourth, Marion, if she gave information to the sheriff. Kaylynn Rudolph, Shawn Hayes, and Park all were accomplices.
An individual was involved in a one-car injury accident at 9:35 p.m. June 17 at 170th and Goldenrod. The driver did not have insurance on the vehicle at the time of the accident, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.
A driver was stopped at 7:17 p.m. Aug 12 on U.S.-56 and milepost 292. Undersheriff Brazil knew the individual was driving on a revoked Kansas driver's license. The driver was subsequently arrested for driving with a revoked license and driving under the influence of alcohol.
An unknown individual ran over a mailbox and post at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at 1861 Falcon, Marion. The damaged property belongs to Ervin Ediger of 1861 Falcon, Marion and is valued at $125, reports Deputy Mike Vineski.
At 11:40 p.m. July 29 individuals sold illegal drugs to a confidential informant who wore a wire. The incident took place at 102 West Santa Fe, Apt. 4, Marion. The individuals were caught with illegal drugs and confessed to the sale. The drugs were valued at $225, reports Deputy Whitwell.
