Inman, Little River fall to Tomahawks

The Peabody-Burns Junior High Tomahawks continue to win with two more league victories this past week.
The Tomahawks defeated Inman 41-18 Jan. 25. Thursday the PBJH squad dominated Little River, 44-18. Up next is one more league game with Goessel and the Heart of America League tournament at Pretty Prairie.
The Tomahawks took a 6-0 lead early in the Inman match-up. Offense for the Tomahawks was cold from the field but the PBJH squad was up by three at the end of one, 8-5. Trevor Hamm led the Tomahawks with six.
In the second period, the Tomahawks remained cold on offense, but turned up the defensive pressure.
A slow half of scoring for the Tomahawks put them up by seven at the buzzer, 16-9.
The offense ignited in the third period, putting 17 on the board. Duane Unruh had eight in the period, Nathan Bishop put in five, and Hamm and Ryan Wiebe added two each.
The offense went cold again in the fourth period with Bishop putting in all eight points in the period. The Tomahawks defeated the Inman squad, 41-18.
Against Little River
The Tomahawks opened with full-court pressure defense and good shooting against Little River. Hamm set the pace on offense with 11. The PBJH squad blanked the Redskins in the first, 20-0.
Dropping back to half-court pressure in the second period, the defense of the Tomahawks continued to make trouble for the Little River team.
Ben Eldridge put up six in the period, with Travis Pohlman and Bishop adding four each. Nick Abramowich rounded out the scoring with two. The Tomahawks took a huge lead to the locker room at the half, 36-5.
The Tomahawks slowed the pace in the second half, putting up 10 in total offense. The Tomahawks cruised to the win, 46-20. The PBJH team is now 11-0 in league play.
