Incidents with juveniles top Peabody police activity

Peabody police assisted Marion County Sheriff's Office Oct. 23 with a battery case on a school bus in the county. The bus belonged to Peabody-Burns and the incident involved two students.

Another incident with a juvenile happened Oct. 24 when local officers assisted with a child out of control at a residence. The juvenile was transported to the emergency room at Newton Medical Center for an evaluation. The investigation of each case continues.

Police chief Bruce Burke said he took a report early Monday morning of an incident Saturday evening when an elderly man fell on public property and was injured. Officers will investigate the incident.

Burke took a report of criminal damage to property Oct. 26. The incident happened during the night of Oct. 25 when an unknown assailant shot out the back window of a vehicle with a BB gun. The vehicle was parked in a residential neighborhood.

A bicycle was reported stolen Oct. 24. It was found on Oct. 25 and returned to the owner. This case is under investigation.
