I want to buy your dishes

Don't forget the deadline for getting your listing added to the community-wide garage sale map is 5 p.m. Friday. Everyone who has signed up so far is hoping for a big bunch of sellers so the ads will draw a good crowd.

I haven't decided for sure yet, but I think I will shop this year instead of sell. You never know what treasures might be seeing daylight for the first time in decades.

The Married Daughter recently sold a half dozen pieces of 1930s china for me on eBay for a whopping $500 so I am on the prowl for some more of the same stuff. If Aunt Bessie left you some dishes that you think are pretty ugly, that is probably the pattern I am seeking. I'd really appreciate it if you'd include them in your sale.

I also have it on good authority from a local farmer that all-rubber Playtex girdles from the 1950s bring plenty on that same online auction site. So I will be looking for some of those too. (And no, it wasn't the farmer's own personal girdle, so don't even ask me who he is.)

Sign up now so I will know where to go first when the big day arrives.
