HPD responds to variety of calls
Hillsboro Police Officers responded to calls that included dog complaints, drunk drivers, and civil matters.
Oct. 8: Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of South Birch Street. Assistance with traffic control was given on U.S.-56. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of Arbor Court. A subject made threats and officers responded in the 200 block of North Adams Street. A report of a possible drunk driver was made in the 300 block of North Birch Street. An unattended death was reported at Tabor College. An officer checked a report of a possible drunk driver on U.S.-56.
Oct. 9: A 911 disconnect occurred in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A motorist was helped on Indigo Road. Parents of a troubled child received assistance.
Oct. 10: An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 600 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was given to a domestic violence advocate. An abandoned vehicle was checked on F Street. A report was received of a possible Internet scam. A traffic complaint was made in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. McPherson County Sheriff's Department received assistance in serving an arrest warrant.
Oct. 11: A report was filed of a missing child in the 200 block of South Main Street. SRS received assistance with an investigation. Civil assistance was provided at city hall. A camper was hooked up to utilities.
Oct. 12: A subject was arrested on a warrant in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was provided with a tenant-landlord dispute. A parking complaint was made in the 200 block of East Second Street. A report was made of a reckless driver on D Street. A criminal damage complaint was filed at Hillsboro Heights.
Oct. 13: A welfare check was conducted in the 100 block of South Birch Street. Authorities from Lakewood, Colo,, received assistance with an investigation. A report was made of a stolen vehicle in the 300 block of West Third Street; determined to be a civil matter. An officer provided assistance in locating a motorist who was late in arriving. Newton Police Department received assistance with an investigation. Officers provided camper hook-ups. A motorist received assistance in Memorial Park. A report was made of a possible drug overdose in the 300 block of North Birch Street. A reckless driver was checked on Indigo Road.
Oct. 14: KBI received assistance with an investigation. A traffic complaint was checked on U.S.-56. A motorist received assistance in the 300 block of North Birch Street. A dog complaint was made in the 300 block of South Main Street.
Oct. 15: Suspicious activity was checked at the sports complex. A subject was arrested in the 200 block of North Main Street on an outstanding warrant. An ambulance crew received assistance with a run in the 600 block of South Main Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 100 block of North Washington Street. A civil process was served.
Oct. 16: A welfare check was made in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street, Hillsboro. A suspicious person was reported in the 300 block of North Adams Street.
Monday: A welfare check was made in the 100 block of South Ash Street. Several individuals were fingerprinted for employment. Assistance was given to a sheriff's deputy with a reckless driver. A motorist received assistance. A damage complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Main Street.
Tuesday: A civil complaint was made in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was provided to a jurisdiction outside Hillsboro with a runaway juvenile.
Wednesday: An attempted fraud complaint was filed. A civil complaint was made in Park Village. Officers gave a presentation at Hillsboro Senior Center. McPherson County Sheriff's Department received assistance with an arrest warrant. Assistance was given to SRS with an investigation. A parking complaint was made in the 400 block of South Washington Street.
Thursday: Officers presented a drug awareness training class to members of community corrections. Assistance was provided with an eviction notice in the 400 block of South Birch Street. A civil process was served for the city. Suspicious people were checked in the 200 block of North Ash Street and the 100 block of South Ash Street.
Friday: A parking complaint was filed in the 100 block of North Wilson Street. Several individuals were fingerprinted for employment. A suspicious vehicle parked downtown was checked. Assistance was given to Great Bend Police Department with an investigation. An individual donated stuffed toys to the police department.
Saturday: The sheriff's department received assistance with serving an arrest warrant. Suspicious activities were checked in the 100 block of North Ash Street and downtown.
Sunday: Charges are pending following a physical altercation between two people in the 300 block of North Madison Street.
