Homecoming: Raindrops fall, but fun doesn't stop

Staff writer

Even the rain didn't stop the festivities Friday for Peabody-Burns High School during 2007 homecoming ceremonies.

Trevor Hamm was named king and Tabitha O'Neal was named queen during the PBHS-Sedgwick football game.

Included in the large crowd attending the festivities were honored guests from the 1977 state runner-up football team.

Nineteen former Peabody High School Warriors and coaching staff attended the game and were recognized at halftime.

Although former PHS head coach Dennis Franchione could not be present at the reunion, a letter from the current Texas A&M head coach was read to his former players during the halftime ceremonies.

Tailgate party a success

The first Main Street tailgate party took place Thursday night with more than 150 Warrior faithful in attendance.

Peabody-Burns High School cheerleaders led the crowd in several cheers to start off the event.

Main Street coordinator Kristen Hooper greeted the crowd.

All PBHS fall athletes and coaching staff were invited guests, and feasted on a tailgate menu of pork sandwiches, beans, coleslaw, and dessert.

After the meal, senior PBHS athletes autographed souvenir photos for the crowd.
