Homecoming is this weekend
Fall homecoming 2007 arrives this week for Peabody-Burns High School students.
The Warriors will be up against the Sedgwick Cardinals for the football game at 7 p.m. Friday. The crowning of the king and queen will take place before the game. The ceremony begins at 6 p.m.
Candidates for king and queen were selected Sept. 11 by the student body. Adam Benson, Nathan Bishop, and Trevor Hamm are candidates for king. Marissa Jantz, Becky Morris, and Tabitha O'Neal are queen candidates. All of the candidates are seniors.
Homecoming activities include class games and homecoming candidate games that will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium. The public is invited to attend.
The homecoming parade will start at 2:50 p.m. at the high school and end at the Walnut and Second street intersection where the traditional homecoming pep rally will take place at 3 p.m.
At halftime of the Warrior-Cardinal game PBHS cheerleaders will host a ceremony honoring the 30th anniversary of the Peabody High School football team of 1977 which played in the 2A state championship game. Many of the 1977 team members will be on hand for the presentation.
The final event of the weekend will be Saturday night at the high school cafeteria. The homecoming dance will begin at 8 p.m. and end at 11. There is an admission charge. Alumni are invited to attend.
