Homecoming activities announced for Peabody-Burns High School

Homecoming candidates were selected Sept. 2 at Peabody-Burns High School. Queen candidates are Kara Gridley, Stephanie Vetter, and Traci Windsor. Candidates for king are Derek Benson, Mike Gfeller, and Micah Hilliard.

Crowning ceremonies will take place at 6 p.m. at the football field prior to the homecoming game at 8 p.m. between PBHS Warriors and the Moundridge Wildcats.

Students at the high school will take part in a variety of activities aimed at raising awareness and school spirit this week. Special dress-up days featured pajama day Monday, 80s rock and roll day Tuesday, costumes day Wednesday, mime day Thursday, and crazy blue and white day Friday.

Homecoming games pitting classes against one another and homecoming candidates against one another will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the football practice field at Eighth and Walnut streets. The public is invited to attend.

The annual parade will begin at 2:50 p.m. at the high school and travel south on Walnut to the Second Street intersection. A pep rally is scheduled at 3:05 p.m. in the intersection.

The 2005 homecoming king and queen will reign over the homecoming dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday night at Brown gymnasium. Peabody-Burns High School alumni are welcome.
