Central Homecare and Hospice, Newton, is sponsoring a video teleconference on dealing with ethical dilemmas at the end of life.

The meeting will be 12:15-3:30 p.m. April 20 at Krehbiel Auditorium on the Bethel College campus.

The teleconference is open to the public and free of charge. Produced by Hospice Foundation of America, it will include a panel of experts who will define and demonstrate how values, ethics, laws, and cultural differences may influence ethical decision-making in health care settings.

Cokie Roberts, ABC News correspondent, will moderate the teleconference. Afterward, a panel of local professionals will respond to the presentation and be available to answer questions from the audience regarding local resources.

Three units of credits will be available for social workers and other care providers for $25.

Bethel College cafeteria will be open. The cafeteria opens at 11:30 a.m. Meal price is $4.50.

According to Robert Carlton, director of Central Homecare & Hospice, approximately 80 percent of an individual's health care dollars are spent in the final six months of life.
