Holiday shopping pays in hometown

Christmas has sneaked up on us all again this year. With hectic schedules and busy lifestyles it is difficult to get all of the holiday shopping done unless you shop locally. You can complete your holiday shopping list in one place, right here, in Peabody.

Why shop Peabody? Because Peabody's unique businesses offer more than just what meets the eye. Businesses offer unique holiday gifts perfect for everyone on your list. After shopping you can grab a bite to eat or pamper yourself with a new hairstyle at one of the fabulous salons in town.

The customer service here is exceptional and you won't have to deal with parking frustrations and the swarms of rude crowds that come hand in hand with this time of year.

Besides unique gifts, great customer service, good food, fresh style, and avoiding the mall crowds, Peabody Main Street Association has one more incentive to shop your hometown this holiday season.

Shopping at participating businesses could be rewarding. For every $10 you spend in a participating business, you will receive one ticket. Complete the ticket and return it to one of the businesses to be entered in a drawing for prizes of $200, $100, $75, $50, and $25 in Peabody Bucks.

Tickets must be turned in by Dec. 29 and a drawing will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the city building.

Participating businesses include A Little Off the Top, Baker Furniture & Carpet, Cameo Rose Antiques, City of Peabody, Country Bunny, The Coneburg Inn, Don's Drug Store, Food Mart, Jackrabbit Hollow, Marshall Auction, Mayesville Mercantile, Peabody Gazette-Bulletin, Peabody Hardware & Lumber, Peabody Main Street Association, Peabody Market, Peabody State Bank, Peabody Veterinary Clinic, Reliance Energy Partners, Peabody Sausage House, Scissor Cottage, and Sharon's Korner Kitchen.
