Historical society tours are Friday, Saturday
Entertain your out-of-town guests, your family, or just enjoy yourself Friday and Saturday as the Peabody Historical Society brings history to life.. Tours begin at the library at 6 p.m. for the guided trips back into time.
Charlie Porter will bring out some long forgotten facts about the Lee/Union House (the old Tod Porter home) where a wonderful Christmas tree and gifts in the front window delighted the entire town — apparently the most popular boarding house in Peabody history.
Musicians on the street corner around the campfire wait for the next big gusher to come in and a real surprise zooms by for the decade of the '70s! Tammie Yoder's scene commemorating the tragedy of 9/11 will be in the window of Don's Drugs.
Mark Levering promises a "new look" for this year as he guides people around town — Trudy Watts is watching for Haley's comet, Jim Meyers warns of microwaves and TV screens, and the other guides are not revealing their plans.
