Historical society plans Peabody Phantasmagoria

Peabody Historical Society members met in a special session May 13 to discuss the casting, props, and plans for the upcoming summer solstice special, the Peabody Phantasmagoria.

Patricia Ketchum has assembled a fascinating collection of facts surrounding Peabody's past. Potential actors and actresses were mentioned, as well as the idea of incorporating giant grasshoppers, Santa Fe trains, and stick horses into the production.

A musical offering will be performed between scenes and a meal by some of the society's best cooks will precede the dramatic production.

The program will be offered June 21. Reservations are necessary and limited to 48 people. The cost is $12 per person. Reservations can be made by calling Joanna Brazil at the city building, 983-2174.

In other business, the board heard that members will be giving a special herbal meal and program June 6 for the Sorosis Beta club.

The society also will host a meal Sunday for Maxine Seibel's class reunion group.
