Hillsboro police report damage to parked cars
Mirrors on two cars were reported damaged by owners, states Hillsboro P.D. Someone damaged driver's side mirrors between Nov. 22 and Nov. 26, and between Nov. 25 and Nov. 26. Losses were estimated at $300 and $150, respectively, in the two separate cases.
Nov. 27: Casey's General Store reported that someone had pumped $37 worth of gas and drove away without paying.
Monday: Someone used spray paint in an alley in the 100 block of South Main Street. A business alarm was activated in the 100 block of North Main Street. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of North Birch Street. A city civil process was served.
Tuesday: A resident reported someone had obtained her debit card number and used it to make three purchases through the Internet; two of the purchases were shipped to Spain; the loss was valued at $314. A civil standby was provided in the 500 block of East First Street. A resident reported someone had altered his personal check after he used it to make a purchase; a suspect has been identified and the case is being investigated. A subject was arrested in the 600 block of South Washington Street for outstanding warrants.
Wednesday: A prowler was reported in the 200 block of South Birch Street. A Marion County sheriff's deputy received assistance with an injury accident. Emergency medical services workers received assistance with a call in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street.
Thursday: A motorist was assisted on U.S.-56. Clothes were reported stolen from a school locker between Nov. 28 and Dec. 1; the loss was estimated at $94. A noise complaint was made in the 400 block of North Ash.
Friday: A welfare check was conducted in the 300 block of North Main Street. A noise complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Cedar Street.
Saturday: Assistance was given to an EMS crew on a call at Hillsboro High School. The K-9 unit searched a building. The sheriff's department received assistance with a drug search.
