Residents were out and about this week. Clara Bartel and Jean Herbel went with Gayla and Pam Ratzlaff to the Garden Center to pick out plants for the front porch of the home. Ruth Goentzel, Stella Rosfeld, and Clara planted them.
Keith Meljo, Alma Rempel, Anna Smith, Hannah Ollenburger, and several apartment residents went Tuesday for a van ride.
Enjoying a noon meal at McDonald's Thursday was Ernie Unruh, Keith Meljo, Alma Rempel, Salmone Friesen, Jean Herbel, Stella Rosfeld, Sue Kinkel, and Ruth Drott. They also went for a ride around town and looked at the new Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church site.
Local pastors were invited Wednesday to a pastors' luncheon. They heard about the culture changes we have made and are working on for the future.
Sandy Patterson, an evening nurse, came in to lead Red Hat Society time. She bought a dress from the Et Cetera shop. Cindy Gaschler, DON, wore the dress and hat. The ladies had to decide how much the outfit cost. Actual price was $5.55 with the ribbon on the hat being the most expensive item. Sandy brought root beer floats and brownies. The Plaid Shirt group watched "Sports Follies" and enjoyed root beer floats.
The middle schoolers joined us Friday afternoon to play bingo and eat popcorn and Chex mix.
Clint Seibel led Sunday services in the afternoon. Several of the residents attended Friends University choir program Sunday at Parkview MB Church.
