Kathy Fish of the Hillsboro Public Library came to present seasonal readings about gardening. Residents enjoyed a cup of coffee while she read. Bingo was played in the afternoon. Residents also heard more from the book, "The Worst Hard Time," about the Volga Germans coming to Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl. Residents sharing their talents in the afternoon included Leland Kaiser playing the harmonica, Marga Ebel and Ernie Unruh entertaining on piano, John Rempel singing a favorite hymn, and Stella Rosfeld sharing pictures of threshing wheat when she was younger. Residents then planned what they wanted to do during the month of May. The Gospel Messengers gave a program that evening.
Bible study was Wednesday. The group studied the first chapter of II Corinthians. Residents made potato curls in the afternoon and enjoyed a game of bingo.
Thursday afternoon we had a special thank you time for our volunteers. Each received an appreciation gift with the theme of helping hands.
Residents watched a video Friday morning about national parks in California.
The staff had a layette shower for Rebecca Lily Friday afternoon. Residents made a fleece-tied blanket which they presented to Rebecca. Staff and residents enjoyed cake and punch.
Table games were played Saturday morning. The movie "The King and I" was viewed in the afternoon.
Ebenfeld MB Church was in charge of Sunday morning worship services.
