Hillsboro golfers compete at home
Eliott Soyez didn't even place on his home course. But that didn't stop him from taking a third-place overall finish Friday in the rain-soaked Marion/Hillsboro tournament.
Soyez bounced back from his 79 at Hillsboro, to shoot a 72 at Marion, and win the tournament. His combined scored gave him a total of 151, good enough for third place.
Andrew Bina started off the tournament by taking fifth place at Hillsboro with a round of 75. But the senior struggled at Marion Country Club, shooting 86, and falling out of the top 10.
As a team the Trojans finished fifth place in the combined tournament score with a total of 660. The Trojans were fifth at Hillsboro after shooting 323, and fourth at Marion with a round of 337.
