Highfill celebrates 85th birthday years ago

Esther Highfill celebrated her 85th birthday at the home of Ronnie and Patti Gaines. Other guests were Dusty Gaines of Newton, Ty and Kim Gaines of Emporia, Kenny and Roma Koehn of Galva, and Jeff and Jill Koehn of Hutchinson.
Marvin and Sherol Nightengale went to the home of Brad and Diane Nightengale in El Dorado Wednesday evening to help Casey Nightengale celebrate his 10th birthday. They attended Laura's basketball game Thursday evening.
Brenda Manns, Bosten and Laken of Manhattan came to the home of her parents Larry and Dee Morgan Friday evening and were houseguests until Sunday afternoon. All attended Bethel's Parents and Family Night basketball game Saturday evening. Steven joined them for Sunday dinner.
Shelby Plummer and Emily Langenegger went to Lindsborg Saturday afternoon and were guests of Marissa Phillips.
Mary Archer of Cottonwood Falls was a Tuesday luncheon guest of her sister and her husband, Lois and Lawrence Sayers. Mary and Lois went to Wichita in the afternoon.
Sunday dinner guests of Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalen, and Carolee were Renferd's parents, Nathan and Ella Koehn.
Larry and Dee Morgan and Joyce Kyle attended a chili supper Sunday evening provided by Pastor Dale and Donita Houghton at the Burns Methodist Church.
Joyce Kyle went to Legacy Park Friday afternoon to wish Lila Richter well in her retirement. She helped care for Ken's parents Paul and Myrtle Kyle and also my dad Fred Gebring. Later in the afternoon, I called on Lawrence and Lois Sayers and their granddaughters Megan and Jessica.
Obed Schmidt's family, Wayne and Cindy Unruh of Fairview, Okla., and Tony Schmidt of Houston, Texas, were Sunday guests of Norman and Andrea Smith.
