High school student thanks community

Picture this — it's Friday night and the Warriors are playing a home game. Where is the community? There you are, literally, packed into the stands to watch the game, wearing your blue and white, and cheering the team on. You get the picture. You have just about the same effect at volleyball tournaments and basketball games.

Why? Because we have an awesome, supportive community that helps us in everything we, the youth, do. Through fund-raisers, home games, music concerts, and car washes, the community is there encouraging us and helping us get a little closer to our goals.

There are local business who buy ads to support our yearbook every year. Parents, grandparents, and other locals go to away games to fortify our teams and help them feel like winners. It seems the community always is cheering us on.

On behalf of all Peabody's youth, I'd like to say thank you to our teachers, parents, coaches, and everyone in the community for helping us achieve what we want out of life and encouraging us in our activities.

We couldn't do it without your support. The encouragement we receive now, in our most impressionable years, builds and shapes us into the people we will become. Ten or 20 years down the line, when we really take a look at the responsible, disciplined, caring, and confident people we are, we can look back on our younger years and thank those special teachers, coaches, and people in the community who cheered us on when we needed it most.
