HHS softball season comes to an end with loss in regionals
After a season that saw the Hillsboro High School softball team have its best record ever at 16-2, the Trojans' season ended abruptly this past week with a with a 6-5 loss to Southeast of Saline.
After receiving a bye in the first round of the tournament, the number two seed Lady Trojans met up with another group of Lady Trojans in Southeast of Saline.
After trailing 6-0 late in the game, Hillsboro rallied to cut the lead to one, but ultimately fell two games short of the state tournament.
HHS finished the season at 17-3.
As a consolation to the early-ending season, seven Lady Trojans were named to Mid-Central Activities Association all-league teams.
Laura Lindsey was the lone first-teamer as she earned the honor as a pitcher.
Jenesa Klose was named to the second-team as a pitcher, Amanda Bina was second-team short stop, and Suzy Lindsay was named a second-team outfielder.
Jenesa's twin sister Jessica earned honorable mention honors at the catcher position, Lora Andrews at first base, and Rachelle Goldsby as a designated hitter.
