Henry Gronau Jr.
Henry Gronau Jr., 70, of Newton, died Dec. 14, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Born Nov. 10, 1934, at Newton, he was the son of Henry and Dorothy (Eberhard) Gronau Sr.
On Oct. 31, 1957, he married Loraine Harms at Newton.
He served in the U.S. Army, was a farmer, and was self-employed as a plumber and electrician.
He was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Newton, serving on the finance committee, as an usher, and volunteering his services as a plumber and electrician.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Whitewater American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Loraine of Newton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Pam Gronau of Whitewater; daughter, Kris Gronau of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Agnes Doughty of Olsburg and Lois Ann Fietz of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church, Newton, with the Rev. John Hotze officiating.
Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newton.
Memorial funds have been established with the church, Whitewater American Legion, and the American Cancer Society.
