Helen Jantzen

Helen R. Jantzen, 86, died Aug. 14, 2005, at Peabody.

Born Jan. 9, 1919, near Elbing, she was the daughter of John and Justina (Harder) Regier.

She attended country schools, then went to Hillsboro Bible Academy for her high school education. She attended Hesston College and became a licensed practical nurse.

On April 2, 1957, she married Gerhard Jantzen. The couple moved to a farm near Potwin. In 1964, the family moved to a farm southeast of Peabody, where they remained until retirement in 1981, when they moved to Peabody.

In 1993, she moved to Legacy Park nursing home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Elaine Regier, and two sisters.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Leland and Cathy Jantzen of Peabody; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Zion Church Cemetery, Elbing, with Pastor Bruce Bradshaw officiating.

A memorial fund has been established with Zion Church.
