Harold C. Taylor
Harold C. Taylor, 96, died Nov. 20, 2005, at his home in Hillsboro.
He was born Jan. 2, 1909, at Hagerman, N.M. At the age of one, he moved to a farm northwest of Peabody and lived there for 84 years before moving to Hillsboro.
He was a farmer and drove a school bus for Peabody-Burns USD 398 for 30 years. He was a member of Flint Hills RECA board of directors for 35 years and was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Peabody.
On Dec. 15, 1934, he married Adele Unruh. She died in 1988.
On June 16, 1989, he married Yunietta Russell Geis.
Survivors include his wife, Yunietta; two daughters, Virginia de Laval of Morro Bay, Calif., and Jane O'Neil of Lindsborg; stepdaughter, Aleta Ashlock of Canton; son, Warren Taylor of Midland, Texas; stepson, Russell Geis of Great Bend; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; one step-grandson; two great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Peabody, with Pastor Robert Kloth officiating.
Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
A memorial fund has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas.
