Six members of Twentieth Century Club, Betty Kyle, Joyce Kyle, Lois Sayers, Kathleen Brenzikofer, Dorene Kirkpatrick, and LaVonne Ammeter, went to Hillsboro Tuesday. They toured the adobe house, the school house, and the old mill. They saw a real interesting video at the gift shop before touring. After the tour they went to the Olde Towne Restaurant and Bakery for lunch.

They also visited the Catholic church at Pilsen. Leona Loney was the tour guide and the group really enjoyed it. It is such a lovely place of worship — they've done so much.

It was not a very nice day weather-wise, but sure was enjoyed by all six members. If you have not visited the adobe house, you should put it on your list to do so.

LaVonne visited Maude Gaines Monday afternoon and Don Gillet visited LaVonne Monday afternoon.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those attending were Dorene Kirkpatrick, Leona Widler, Maude Gaines, and Sherry Nightengale.

The annual charge conference and soup supper was held Wednesday evening at the Summit United Methodist Church. Lots of good soup and goodies were enjoyed before the meeting. Those attending were LaVonne Ammeter, Maude Gaines, Pastor Dave Randall, Sherry and Marvin Nightengale, Ron and Doreen Kirkpatrick, Ronnie and Patti Gaines, and Dustin Gaines of Newton. What a great evening of fellowship!

Don Gillet visited LaVonne on Thursday.

Little goblins and ghosts haunted the community Halloween evening. It was cold, but so much fun. Trick or Treat'ers at LaVonne's were Andrew, Julie, and Amy Wedel, Natalie, Taryn, Kenton, and Tiana Wiebe, Tim Fritz, Lucas and Kiefer Larsen, Clayton and Jess Philpot, Braxton and Brodie Kyle, Dillon Boese, and Jessica and Megan Sayers.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne were in Peabody and Marion Friday. They ate lunch at The Big Scoop in Marion and visited Norma and LeRoy Riggs later in the day.

Blaine and Carol Ammeter of Ellinwood and Todd Ammeter of Manhattan arrived at the Ammeter farm Friday evening to spend Friday night and Saturday. Carol spent the day with her folks, Don and Marge Gfeller. Blaine, Todd, and Stan Ammeter were dinner guests. Blaine, Todd, and LaVonne went to the Gfellers for supper Saturday evening. Carol and Blaine left for Ellinwood late in the evening. Todd and Grandma LaVonne had a great time playing Rumicula with Don and Marge. Todd was a Saturday overnight guest of his Grandma LaVonne. Sunday morning they went to church and Stanley Ammeter joined them for dinner. Todd left for Manhattan late afternoon. We had a great weekend and grandchildren are truly grand!

Pastor Dave was at Summit Church Sunday and had a wonderful message.

Hope you all have a good week and that you all voted and did your patriotic duty.
