Gretchen Berns competes in all-star game
Gretchen Berns, a senior at Peabody-Burns High School, participated this past weekend in the sixth annual Steve Young High School All-Star Game at Newman University in Wichita.
Berns played for the girls' team one and competed with athletes from Liberal, Kingman, Wichita North, Wichita Heights, and Andale.
Team one was coached by Tyrone Galbreath from Wichita North and Kip Pulliam from Wichita Heights.
The all-star event, coordinated by Steve Young, a Wichita police officer, featured girls and boys all-star games, a three-point shoot-out, and a slam dunk contest.
Berns is the daughter of Fred and Lynn Berns of rural Peabody..
