Grandma and Grandpa are invited
Peabody-Burns Elementary School students will be inviting their grandparents to eat Christmas dinner with them Dec. 15 in the school multi-purpose room.
"This is a project we implemented last year," said elementary school principal Ken Parry. "It was a popular event and we want to host it again this year.
"People who don't have grandchildren in the school system are still invited to attend," said Parry. "We have lots of youngsters who would love to have an adopted grandparent for a day.
"They just need to sign up and be here to eat. We will provide not only the food, but the 'grandchild' to everyone who wishes to take part."
Reservations are required. Patrons interested in attending should call the school and reserve a meal by Dec. 8. There will be a charge of $3 for the meal to help defray the cost.
Lunch times for specific classes are available by calling the elementary school at 983-2188.
