Celebrities from all over the United States gathered in El Dorado last weekend for the Governor's One-Shot Turkey Hunt.

Kansas Governor Bill Graves was in attendance for the three-day hunt. Graves has been a part of the hunt for 15 years. The one-shot turkey hunt was established 16 years ago by former Governor Mike Hayden, who returns every year to the hunt.

Pat Post of rural Burns has guided in the hunt for 15 of its 16 years. The three-day event branches out to rural areas all over the state of Kansas.

Some of the counties in which the guides and their celebrity hunters pursue the wild birds are Reno, Harvey, Sedgwick, Chase, Marion, Elk, and Greenwood.

With Governor Graves' term nearing its end, he has become the governor to oversee the hunt for the longest time, eight years. He indicated to the capacity banquet crowd Saturday evening, he intends to return to the hunt in the future.
