Golfers open season at Herington

The Peabody-Burns High School golf team opened the season April 1 at Herington.
Twelve teams competed with a total of 61 golfers.
The team came home with individual medals as well as team honors.
Two Warrior golfers earned individual medals. Joe Zappone came in at fifth and Travis Pohlman 10th.
The two man team of Brian Wingert and Zappone took home a second-place medal.
The six-man team of Wingert, Zappone, Pohlman, Jason Wingert, Thomas McGee, and Jason McClendon earned a third-place medal. The four-man team came in fifth.
Next up for the squad is a trip Monday to Chase County and a Tuesday home meet.
