Golf team heads to state

The Peabody-Burns High School golfers placed second May 14 at the Yates Center regionals.
The squad now will compete at Riley County in the State Sand Green competition.
Riley County claimed first place with a score of 323. PBHS scored 372. Chase County came in third with a 375 and Yates Center was fourth with a score of 409.
Jake Watts led the PBHS pack with an 11th place finish and a 91.
Anthony Jones finished 13th with a 93. Joseph Zappone placed 14th and Brian Wingert placed 15th, both with a score of 94. Thomas McGee came in 20th with a 102 and Oliver Whitney finished 22nd with a 111.
State results were not available at press time.
