Goldie Jean Funk
Goldie Jean Funk, 76, died Nov. 13, 2005, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
Born Feb. 3, 1929, at Goessel, she was the daughter of David D. and Justina (Janzen) Unruh.
She was a dietitian/cook at Salem Hospital and member of First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.
On March 29, 1949, she married LaVerne Funk. He died in 1990. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Hawkins.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer Funk of Newton and David Funk of Hillsboro; daughter, Virginia Martens of Hillsboro; three brothers, Tony Unruh of Inola, Okla., Lee Unruh of Minneapolis, Minn., and John Unruh of Hillsboro; four sisters, Elvena Brandt of Goessel, Tina Unruh of Hillsboro, Norma Schrock of Elkhart, Ind., and Adella Gabel of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Randy Smith officiating.
Memorial funds have been established with the church or the American Diabetes Association.
