Give credit

It is important to give credit where credit is due.

The quilt which Reas Axtell received after his injuries in Iraq came from the Quilts of Valor program.

The Peabody American Legion contacted the program to have Pfc. Axtell's quilt delivered to him. We donated last year and again this month to sponsor a quilt.

A Quilt of Valor is a hand-made tribute awarded to a service member injured in the war on terror, primarily in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a lap-size, pieced, quilt-top, batting and backing, assembled by volunteer quilt-toppers and longarmers, and awarded to injured recipients in and out of military hospitals around the world.

For more information on this project visit the Quilts of Valor website at www.qovf. To sponsor a quilt or make any donation to the Kansas program, please send donations to: Quilts of Valor-Kansas, Katy Vickers, Treasurer, 12123 Meribeau Ct., Wichita KS 67235.
