Gillises to observe 50th anniversary years ago
Floyd and Dolores Gillis of Glendale, Ore. will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows ceremony and reception for family and friends.
The reception, which will be hosted by the couple's children and grandchildren, is set for 2 p.m., Oct. 18 in Glendale.
Floyd D. Gillis was born and raised in Burns. He worked for Boeing in several areas and retired as a production engineer. Dolores R. (Fenimore), originally from Junction City, is a homemaker. They were married Dec. 4, 1953, in Wichita at the First Presbyterian Church.
They have three children, Kathy Miranda and husband Thomas of Glendale, Janet Gilman and husband Dale of Corcoran, Calif., and Stuart Gillis and wife Robin of Graham, Wash.
The couple moved to Washington state while he was employeed with Boeing. After retirement, they returned to Kanss for a time before moving to Oregon in 1994. Their address is P.O. Box 279, Glendale, OR 97442.
