German dinner to benefit Kevin and Janet Robinson
Kevin and Janet Robinson of Florence lost their home and most of their possessions Feb. 25 in a fire. The Robinsons thought their home and its contents were insured, but found out after the fire that the policy had lapsed.
Friends of the family will be hosting a benefit dinner Sunday evening at the American Legion in Florence. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Cost of the meal is by donation.
The menu will include German sausage, German potato salad, creamed peas, applesauce, bread and butter, and drink.
Rick Turner, one of the organizers of the event, said the home was almost totally destroyed. "It's an unbelievable sight," he said. "It was a pretty devastating fire."
Anyone unable to attend the dinner, but wishing to make a donation, may do so at the Cottonwood Valley Bank or Florence Market.
