Gene Eilerts
Earl Eugene "Gene" Eilerts, 80, died Sept. 16, 2007, at Legacy Park, Peabody.
Born Aug. 9, 1927, he was the son of Earl Cleone and Ida Eva Eilerts.
On May 3, 1952, he married Marquetta Feely at Wichita.
He served in the U.S. Navy. His lifelong work was spent in the trucking industry.
Survivors include his wife, Marquetta of Peabody; son, Ronald Eilerts of Wichita; two daughters, Judith Rowe of Burlington and Susan Brickler of Rome, Italy; sister, Karen Baker; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Peabody United Methodist Church, Peabody.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita.
Memorial funds have been established with the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice Care of Kansas, North Newton, and Kansas Wildlife Trust.
