Gaines, Lanman enjoy reunion

Patti Gaines took Maude Gaines to Wichita for the 90th birthday celebration of Lena Lanman, former Burns resident. Patti said it was a wonderful experience to witness the reunion of two friends.

Dusty Gaines was a Sunday dinner guest of his parents, Ronnie and Patti Gaines.

Marvin and Sherol Nightengale went to Newton Saturday to watch their grandson, Roger Nightengale, run in the cross-country event. They were Sunday dinner guests in the home of Brad and Diane Nightengale, Roger, Laura, and Casey in El Dorado and celebrated Brad's birthday.

Al and Bonnie Plummer and Shelby of El Dorado left Friday evening for the home of Martin and Kayme Voelker, Alyson and Abby in Nixa, Mo. They returned home Sunday afternoon.

Lawrence and Lois Sayers, Mary Archer of Cottonwood Falls, and Vera Nimrod of Peabody went to Wichita Monday to call on Vinton Nimrod at Via Christi-St. Joseph Medical Center. He is Vera's brother-in-law and a cousin of the Sayers and Mary.

Joyce Kyle met Earl and Louise Mercer of Clyde, Texas, and Rodney Powers of Augusta at the Burns Café Monday for lunch. They visited in the Kyle home after lunch.

Joyce Kyle accompanied Laverna Parrish to Mulvane Saturday to attend the United Methodist Women's district meeting. In the evening Joyce, Mary Langenegger, Kathleen Brenzikofer, Minamae Bierman, and Barbara Anderson attended the soup supper at the Wonsevu Christian Church.

Sunday evening supper guests of Scott Zogelman in Florence were Bert Zogelman, Carol Callahan, and Joyce Kyle. Scott cooked his own birthday supper — delicious!

Joyce Kyle had a pleasant Friday evening when the Eden church youth came to visit and sing. Participating were sponsors Dan and Jan Schmidt, Rebecka, Waylen, and Starla Schmidt, Doug, Rick, Joe, Wesley, Charlotte, Felicia, and Deby Koehn.
