Gaines, Ammeter work long hours at election board

Maude Gaines and LaVonne Ammeter worked on the election board Tuesday in the Burns City Building. Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived Tuesday evening and took Maude, LaVonne, and the ballots to Marion. It was a long, but very good day! All three precincts really turned out good and voted.
LaVonne took Don Gillet to the doctor in Marion Monday and picked up the ballots for Burns, Milton, and Summit.
LaVonne and Maude Gaines went to Marion Wednesday morning. LaVonne had a dental appointment and they both got flu shots.
Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Quilters were LaVonne, Maude Gaines, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Sherol Nightengale, and Leona Widler.
Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood was a Tuesday overnight guest at the Ammeter farm. Stan Ammeter and Blaine built fence on Wednesday. Don Gillet was an afternoon and supper guest. Blaine left for Ellinwood late in the evening.
Maude Gaines and LaVonne were in El Dorado Thursday. They had lunch together at the Dairy Queen. Maude and LaVonne went to Marion Friday. They ate lunch at the Stone City Café.
LaVonne attended a baby shower Friday evening for Donna Ramsey at the Outpost in Florence.
Don Gillet was a Saturday dinner guest of LaVonne. Michele Montgomery stopped by LaVonne's for a little while.
LaVonne attended church Sunday at the Ebenezer Church and the church dinner at the Burns Community Building. There was lots of good food and fellowship.
Weekend guests of Maude Gaines were Sally and Jim Abel of Perry, Troy Abel of Silver Lake, William and Cory Gantz of Perry, Shelly Harper and Ben of Inman, Zach Harper of Lawrence, Dusty Gaines of Newton, Ty and Kim Gaines of Emporia, Ronnie and Patti Gaines, Jean Gaines and Ray Paxton of Holton, Herb and Melinda Gaines of rural Cassody, and Bo Gaines of Lindsborg. The boys came to hunt and visit Mom and Grandma.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Loyd Hands of Columbus visited Laurie Rose on Monday. They are Laurie's cousins. Laurie Rose was in Benton on Wednesday.
