Francis Grabner
Francis J. Grabner, 91, Salina, formerly of Potwin, died March 30, 2003, at Presbyterian Manor, Salina.
He was born March 24, 1912, at Neodesha, the son of John and Ida (Henderson) Grabner. He married Hazel Snyder Sept. 28, 1939. She died April 18, 1998.
Grabner was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, and a former member of St. John's Catholic church, El Dorado. He was a former mayor and city councilman at Potwin, a member of Potwin Lions Club, in which he held various offices, a member of Knights of Columbus, and former member of the Potwin School Board. He was retired from Vickers Petroleum Co., Potwin, and was a retired meat inspector with the state of Kansas.
Survivors include three sons, J.D. of Wichita, Gary of Eagan, Minn., and Rodney of Salina; two brothers, Richard Grabner of Muncie, Ind., and Louis Grabner of Dallas, Texas; one sister Helen Grabner of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church, El Dorado. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Nutter Mortuary, Whitewater, and 4 to 5 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church where a Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m.
Interment will be at Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado. Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Manor, Salina.
